The Central Pivot Range (CPR) is a structured way to frame each session's likely area of value. Here's what it is and how to read it.
The Central Pivot Range (CPR) is built from three lines — the pivot, and the top and bottom central pivots — derived from the previous session's high, low and close.
A narrow CPR suggests the market found agreement on value, which can precede expansion. A wide CPR suggests disagreement and often accompanies range conditions.
CPR is best used as a map of value, not as a buy/sell signal. It answers 'where are we relative to value?' rather than 'what will happen next?'.
